Salt and Sage produced the world premiere of Mikki Gillette’s No More Candy in fall 2024. The play got rave reviews from both the Willamette Week, which called it ‘an ode to gaybies,’ and Portland Mercury, which hailed it as a ‘hero’s/healer’s journey’. Oregon Arts Watch previewed the piece with an in-depth feature on the partnership between plawright, Mikki Gillette, and director, Asae Dean.

Development History
Mikki Gillette wrote the first draft in 2013.
defunkt theatre in Portland produced a staged reading as part of Fuse Theatre Ensemble's OUTwright Festival in 2014.
Mikki produced a workshop directed by Sarah Andrews in 2022.
The play was a finalist in Macha Theatre Works Distillery contest in 2023.
Copious Love Productions in Seattle produced a staged reading in 2024.
