Salt and Sage is seeking 11-13 actors for an upcoming repertory of Tears & Glitter and Mimetic Desire, both by Mikki Gillette. These productions will run at The Backdoor Theatre from May 29th – June 22nd. Rehearsals begin April 2nd.
Auditions will be held on Saturday January 4th from 3-5 pm and Sunday January 5th from 4-6 pm at 21ten theatre at 2110 SE 10th Ave with an in-person callback from 5 to 7 pm on Sunday January 12th. Virtual callbacks will be arranged for those who need it.
Stipends will be $600 - $800. Note that our current thinking is that most actors will not be in both productions due to the different age cohorts of the characters. Any actors cast in both will receive larger stipends to reflect the additional commitment.
Appointments are required. If you are interested in auditioning, please submit your headshot, resume, as well as time preference for an audition appointment slot to saltsagepdx@gmail.com. If granted a slot we will also require you to fill out our online audition form ahead of your appointment.
If you do not have a headshot or it is outdated, feel free to submit a candid photo instead. If the audition date does not work for you, go ahead, and submit your materials as virtual or async arrangements can be made. Auditions should be memorized material under 2 minutes in length.
Note all cast and creative team need to be vaccinated against Covid-19. You will need to bring proof of vaccination to auditions.
